Ghee is composed almost entirely of saturated fat. When cooking, it can be unhealthy to heat polyunsaturated oils such as vegetable oils to high temperatures.
Doing so creates peroxides and other free radicals. Ghee has a very high smoke point and doesn’t burn easily during cooking.
Ghee has stable saturated bonds and so is lot less likely to form the dangerous free radicals when cooking.
Ghee’s short chain of fatty acids are also metabolized very readily by the body.
Lab studies have shown ghee to reduce cholesterol both in the serum and intestine. It does it by triggering an increased secretion of biliary lipids. Ghee i s also good for nerves and brain.It helps control eye pressure and is beneficial to glaucoma patients. Ghee is most notably said to stimulate the secretion of stomach acids to help with digestion, while other fats, such as butter and oils, slow down the digestive process and can sit heavy in the stomach. Ghee is rich with antioxidants and acts as an aid in the absorption of vitamins and minerals from other foods, serving to strengthen the immune system. A high concentration of butyric acid, a fatty acid that contains anti-viral properties, is believed to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors.
It is good for treatment of burns, medicated Ghee can be used in Non heal ulcers of bones and joints. According to Ayurveda ghee promotes learning and increased memory retention. While in a healthy person consuming ghee may reduce your cholesterol or not affect it.
It is safer than butter. Ghee is used in medicinal preparations in Ayurveda as Adjuavant as well as main line therapy.A simple Ghee or medicated ghee is used for Eye treatments for clarity of vision. Ghee especially in children increases immune system and helps in vision.
Ghee also can be used for massages for smoothening and nourishment of skin.
Ghee also can used in Nasya in nourishment of brain on daily basis. Ghee can be used as Enema for all nervous , joint and bone problems

DOBROBITI GHEE-a
Ghee se sastoji gotovo u potpunosti od zasićenih masnih kiselina. Prilikom kuhanja, može biti nezdravo grijati biljna ulja na viskim temperaturama, jer sadrže višestrukonezasićene masne kiseline.
To dovodi do stvaranja peroksida i ostalih slobodnih radikala. Ghee ima vrlo visoku točku dimljenja i ne gori lagano za vrijeme kuhanja. Ghee ima stabilne zasićene veze pa je stoga puno manja šansa da će doći do stvaranja opasnih slobodnih radikala prilikom kuhanja. Njegove masne kiseline kratkog lanca se također vrlo lako metaboliziraju.
Laboratorijske studije su pokazale da ghee smanjuje razinu kolesterola i u serumu i u crijevima. To čini tako da potiče povećano lučenje žučnih lipida. Ghee je također dobar za živce i mozak. Pomaže kontrolirati očni tlak i koristan je pacijentima s glaukomom. Prije svega, za ghee se kaže da potiče lučenje želučanih kiselina i tako pomaže u probavi, dok ostale masti, poput maslaca i ulja, usporavaju probavni proces i teško sjedaju na želudac. Prema Ayurvedi, ghee unaprijeđuje učenje i poboljšava pamćenje. Kada zdrave osobe konzumiraju ghee mogu reducirati svoj kolesterol ili ne utjecati na njegovo stvaranje.
Sigurniji je od maslaca. Ghee se koristi u Ayurvedi kao pomoćno sredstvo kod ljekovitih pripravaka te kao glavni dio terapije. Običan ghee ili s ghee s lijekovitim pripravcima se koristi pri tretmanu očiju za čistoću vida. Pogotovo kod djece pojačava imunitet i i poboljšava vid. Još se može koristiti za masaže u svrhu zaglađivanja i hranjenja kože.
Ghee se može koristiti u tretmanu Nasya za prehranjivanje mozga na dnevnoj bazi. Također se koristi i kao klistir za sve probleme vezane uz živce, zglobove i kosti.
